My client asked me if I could design a cover for the Room 101 audiobook, and create some artwork which was reminiscent of the iconic tv set from the series during Paul Merton’s time as host. They provided me with some photos from the tv show as reference.
I created this artwork in Adobe Illustrator, based on the original reference image provided, and other images of steel structures.
Finally, I imported the vector artwork into Photoshop and added shading and grain effects, and added the text. I referred back to the original source image from the show when selecting a font, so that I could try to match it as closely as possible. Here’s the final result:
