Little Blue Dot is a pre-primary ELT course published by OUP. I created the branding, cover design, image manipulation including 3D effects, and sourced the stock images. I wanted the covers to look like a miniature version of it’s big sister ‘Blue Dot‘, and I had the idea to make the scene reminiscent of a theatre set. I created flat shapes for the clouds, branches and bushes, layered them from foreground to background, and gave them some depth using 3D software. I used a similar technique to create the 3D logo. Each letter is created individually so that they can each be rotated at a slightly different angle, to reflect the lighting in a different way. Little Blue Dot teacher’s pack includes a puppet, so I took the opportunity to have him holding the bar code on the back covers … here he is holding Student Book Level 2.
